Artaria String Quartet
Wednesday, June 12 & 19
Hear the remarkable story of noted composer Antonín Dvorák writing inspiring music during his summer in Spillville, Iowa in 1893. Both “American” chamber works will be featured in the series performed by the award-winning quartet along with guest violinist Masumi Per-Rostad.
With over two decades of compelling chamber music performances to their credit, the Artaria String Quartet's refined and thoughtful playing has brought them critical acclaim in celebrated venues in Europe, Canada, and throughout the United States. Originally formed in Boston, and mentored by the legendary Budapest, La Salle, Kolisch, and Juilliard quartets, the Artaria String Quartet now resides in St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota where they are firmly rooted in the tradition of chamber music performances and education.
Artaria is in residence at Stringwood Summer Chamber Music School and Festival in Lanesboro, MN, and members of the ASQ are on faculty of St. Olaf College where the quartet often performs.
